...same as the old blog. Except for the title and the URL.
Oh, and the commenting system. For the time being, I’ll use Blogger comments here. Not the best, but waaaay better than Echo. (Note to Echo: Discarding useful features is bad enough, but replacing a perfectly good commenting system with one that is difficult to understand and a pain in the ass to use is fatally fuckin’ feckless.)
My last post over at Blog d’Elisson explained my rationale for jumping over to a shiny new crib... but you can legitimately ask “Why bother blogging in the first place?” After all, blogging is, well, passé. Everybody and his brother spends time on Twitter (“Blogging for People with ADHD”) or on Facebook. (Why hang out with friends when you can hang out with ffriends?)
My answer? Blogging is unique, the only medium in which you can create a self-selected social milieu of people with those talents and interests that appeal to you. The thread that ties you all together is nothing more - or less - than the things you write, and through reciprocal or concatenating linkage and comments, that thread is woven into a true fabric of communication.
I have yet to hear of friendships - of communities - arising from Twitter or any of its micro-blogging platform competitors... but blogging has brought us any number of them.
Plus, it’s fun. A creative outlet. Where else can I write poems about the benefits of a tapered stool; a thoughtful essay on Nasal Secretions; or post a recipe for Hungarian Goulash that is subsequently linked by the New York Times... on their International Affairs page?
Welcome to my world. Again.
Update: Apparently, I’m not the only one who’s moving.

Well, alrighty then - made the move. I'd sure hate to miss my ration of discussions of various secretions.
I think they do have "tweet-ups" on Twitter. Not that anyone cares. I'm just commenting here. Came from LeeAnn's.
Mmmmm...cheese...
If you're going to get lost in the cheese aisle, I hope you run across Cowgirl Creamery... which has some dandy triple cremas. Yum!
And I do hope to see you and SWMBO some day soon to share cheese, wine and other scrummy treats.
Congrats on your new identity.
I am all too familiar with Cowgirl Creamery, source of the deliciously pungent Red Hawk cheese that features prominently in this post.
When do the food posts re-commence?

Can I get an AMEN? Yas, brethren, verily I say unto you, cheese is the WORD!.
I'm just happy you're gonna keep blogging. I read the first sentence at the other place and about started crying... then I realized you moved over here so now I'm all cheered up and off to change the links. Blog on!
Okay - 2 requests:
1. On the old site, the picture of you, SWMBO and the MoS shows an Elisson that's about half the man in the rotating pic on this site. Time to update, brother - you're lookin' good!
2. Colander-head is cool, but it ain't home without the white fedora somewhere on the site. That's a great hat. :)
Whew!, you had me worried for a second or two. Which just shows, read the whole damn thing before getting dramified..
Good move you cheesy Propulsion Engineer.
I love it when you get lost in the cheese aisle- no one does it better!
Glad to see you here!
Now where's the inaugural Hakuna pic???
Being from Wisconsin, I am fascinated with the new title.
Thank you!
Oh, that was me...

Hallo, is it you, then?
Feh. Who needs blogging these days? Or Twitter or any of that crap. I use FriendFace...

See you, sometimes. All the best!
You're always a work in progress... no, make that blogress... Maybe you'll have a post on how to make a cheese log? Making logs can be fun and full of surprises.
OK, I can do this. I so suck at updating my blogroll though. Seriously... suck.
'Lost in the Cheese Aisle' is an anagram of 'Ethical Elison Seethes', so can we expect some rage in this blog now?
Not a proper blog without a white fedora, a picture of Hakuna, and some ethnic/Southern high carb food dishes featuring an endangered animal or two.
Duly bookmarked, however.
Blogroll is updated.
Well it appears as if no one had difficulty finding you. And you said you were lost. h~
Happy you're still writing :)
Have fun being lost.
RE: Sometimes change - shaking things up, moving on - can spur one on to greatness. At the very least, it’s one way to escape the status quo and preserve the illusion of personal progress... to get out of one’s old rut, thus enabling one to begin scraping out a new one.

Hello, old friend!
I hope you see this, because I've got a lot to say. ;-D
I've just updated my blogroll, and am very proud to do so because I, & Daddy always have a good time whenever we have stopped by over the years, and are extremely honored by your encouragement, and linking to me in your Feline. Blogroll.
The above quote struck a chord with Daddy & I.
When we began Blogging, in 2002, I shared space with Daddy, and didn't blog a lot, but withing a few years I was blogging up a storm as folks like you encouraged me with your kind words.
By the time Daddy closed up his first blog in 2007, and started another, I had discovered The Cat Blogosphere, and became more, and more involved, and more Humans, and Felines, enjoyed my efforts, until...finally...Daddy did something that we both realize in hindsight should have been done years ago...
We retired Nikita's Place, and set me up in a place all my very own, last New Year's Day...
Meowsings of an Opinionated Pussycat (http://www.opinionatedpussycat.com).
I hope you will do me the honor of updating your listing of me in your blogroll.
To describe what my blogging, then the new blog, and it's expanded sidebars, have grown to become, the last 3 years, but especially since January, is not an easy thing, you just have to explore the new place at your leisure.
To describe the response to my efforts would be even harder.
Let's just say that we are stunned, and overwhelmed (Just the fact I have had over 500 comments in 6 months has been 1 thing that has amazed us.).
Change is good, and can lead one down a creative path, and a path of personal progress, that one, whether Feline, or Human, might not have expected.
We have ideas, hopes, and plans, for the future, and even though my audience is still small (50 to 150 visits a day) and our time, resources, and connections, may be limited, we are determined to move forward as best we can.
We both love to write, and share our opinions, not to mention photos of yours truly, that's why we still blog after 8 years, when others have long since stopped.
If we were in it to make money only, as so many seem to think all blogging of any variety is good for, we would have quit years ago. ;-D
Take care, and we look forward to your continued blogging, Feline related, and otherwise.
Mr. Nikita Cat
