Every so often, Rahel reminds me that I’m overdue for posting a photo of Hakuna, the Grand Cat-Dowager of Chez Elisson.
Mea culpa.
Without further ado, then, a Kitty-Photo, this one of Hakuna doing her best imitation of one of those little pillbugs:
Of course, if I ever encountered a twelve-pound pillbug, I’d crap a peach pit.

Oy. I get those little roly polies sometimes -- not nearly as bad as the occasional hideous house centipede. I practically crap a peach pit even when they are the size of a small fingernail clipping.
Pillbugs aren't warm and fuzzy, so I won't ask you to pet any for me.
Please pet Hakuna for me, though....
When I looked at this blog post on my cell phone, I initially thought the second photo was of a chocolate truffle.
Now I want to sculpt a chocolate truffle that looks like a curled-up woodlouse.
Pillbugs are terrestrial crustaceans. I thinking "twelve pounds"?!?!?! Baby, melt me some BUTTER!

@MC - Since 12-pound pillbugs are (thank Gawd) hard to find, you might want to try the next closest thing: a horseshoe crab.
Or you could look at one of its closest relatives, the giant isopod.
@BobG - Thanks, buddy... now I'll never be able to sleep, knowing that critters like that are somewhere on the planet with me. Yeef.
Heh. The best thing you can do with a curled-up sleeping kitty is to scoop it up, invert it, and do a quick motorboat on the belly. Then tuck it back into place before the kitty fully wakes up and gets in a retaliatory mood!
Pookie used to raise her head, blink a couple of times as if to say "WTF was THAT all about??"
She's a gorgeous as ever.
And El Capitan made laugh!
